The idea of a Drag Strip on Long Island started just when the prior one was closed. Our area used to host many circle tracks, a road course and drag strips. Riverhead Raceway is the only operating circle track on Long Island. The need for another and diiferent type of racing was clear, As we enter season 6 the excitement level is high.
