California Inland Region — 2nd Saturday Drive (Santa Clarita Canyons) Start your month the right way — behind the wheel, on the best roads in the region. The CAI 2nd Saturday Drive is our signature monthly canyon run through Bouquet, San Francisquito, and Angeles Forest Highway, and it’s hands-down one of the best “welcome to the club” experiences we offer. So good we run it every month. This drive is super welcoming and new-member friendly, and it’s also one of the most consistent events on our calendar all year long. Many of us meet new members at Cars & Coffee (1st Saturday) — and this is your invitation to come back and experience the club in motion. Our route features some of our all-time favorite local roads: Bouquet Canyon Road • Spunky Canyon Road • San Francisquito Canyon Road • Elizabeth Lake Road • Soledad Canyon Road • Angeles Forest Highway • Aliso Canyon Road Highlights include breathtaking views of the Bouquet Canyon Reservoir and a pass through the famous Soledad Canyon tunnel, featured in Steven Spielberg’s movie Duel. Northern Members Meetup (Palmdale Stop) We especially want to welcome our northern CAI members to join in! If Santa Clarita is a bit of a haul, feel free to meet us at our mid-route break in Palmdale and jump in with the group from there. We’ll be making a short stop at the Albertsons in Palmdale (South entrance by Subway) around 10:45 AM for a quick stretch, restroom break, and to rally everyone together before heading out for the second half of the drive. Schedule 9:15 AM — Meet & stage in Santa Clarita 9:30 AM — Drivers meeting ~10:45 AM — Mid-route break in Palmdale (restrooms + catch up + regroup) 11:00 AM — Second drivers meeting & departure Finish at River’s End BBQ for food and social time Route stats 77 miles Elevation change: +6,127 ft / -5,525 ft End location We’ll wrap up at River’s End Pub & BBQ, a local favorite serving slow-smoked BBQ and pub fare — from brisket and pulled pork to burgers and more.
