2026 TrackSprint Autobahn South

Chicago Region SCCA heads to Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois, for 2026 TrackSprint South on Friday, August 28, 2026. Held on Autobahn’s South Course, this SCCA TrackSprint event gives drivers the chance to experience timed runs on track in a format that is approachable, competitive, and fun. Timed Runs on Track TrackSprint is a unique SCCA Track Event format that puts each driver against the clock. There is no passing and no wheel-to-wheel racing. Instead, cars are released one at a time with dedicated intervals, allowing each participant to focus on their own run, their own car, and their own improvement. The event uses approximately three-quarters of Autobahn’s South Course for a time-attack style run. Drivers begin their run by passing through timing beams, then drive the course as quickly as they feel comfortable before crossing the flying finish and continuing through a cooldown section before returning to pit lane. A Great Step Into Track Events TrackSprint South is a strong option for drivers who are new to track events, trying a new-to-them car on track for the first time, or looking to build experience toward a Time Trials license. The format is designed to be as relaxed or competitive as each driver wants to make it, while still offering the excitement of timed competition. Drivers are grouped by experience, and mentors will be available throughout the event to answer questions and offer advice. A classroom session will also be held before participants go on track. Trophies will be awarded by car class, with cars classed based on power and level of modification. Registration and Requirements Registration opens on MotorsportReg on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 11:59 AM CDT. Entry is listed at $125, with a discounted $65 worker/driver option available for participants who volunteer to work part of the event. Participants will need an annual or weekend SCCA membership, a safe eligible vehicle, an approved helmet, long pants, closed-toe shoes, and large numbers displayed on both sides of the car.
