Oktoberfest Drive and Bavarian BBQ

Join us for the Annual ORPCA Oktoberfest! A scenic drive through fall colors, ending at Sylvia’s and Heinz’s home for Oktoberfest food and beer! The route is entirely on paved roads. Bring your favorite Porsche! The first leg takes us on scenic backroads from Tualatin through Laurel Ridge, the Chehalem Mountains, and Buck Heaven to Yamhill for our first rest stop. The second leg continues from Yamhill to Laurelwood, through Dilley and Forest Grove, over to Kansas City, and then to North Plains for a second rest stop. The third leg climbs up to Skyline in the West Hills and on to Forest Heights. The drive ends at the home of Sylvia Nessan and Heinz Holzapfel, who will host a backyard gathering with a Bavarian Oktoberfest BBQ: pretzels, grilled sausages, sauerkraut, potato salad, and Bavarian beer. If it rains, we’ll need to fit into the garage and additional tents, which limits space to 40 attendees. Sign-up for the BBQ opens 9/1/26, with 40 spots available and a waitlist for additional attendees. If the weather forecast looks fair, waitlisted members will be notified and can purchase BBQ tickets after 9/20/26. Reservation opens September 1, 2026 at 7pm. General Information about this Event: Registration is per person. Each driver must complete the data collection in the registration form. If you have a navigator, please register that person at the same time. The start location, meet-up time, driving directions and link to of Digital Navigation Support will be provided three days before the event to all registrants. Please check your Spam folder if you do not see an email with the directions within 24 hours of the event. Each Participant (Driver and Navigator) is required to sign the “Release and Waiver of Liability” at the start of the drive. We encourage all participants to take pictures and share the pictures either on our social media sites or upload them to our photo repository using the link that will be provided with the driving directions.
