The Armed Forces Retirement Home has invited us to bring our cars to their annual Classic & Antique Auto Show, held in the Scott McKee Courtyard.
This is not a spectator event. We are being asked to take part - to bring a car, spend the morning with the residents, give rides, and drive in the parade. The veterans who live at AFRH are the audience, and the morning exists for them. There are no trophies and no judging.
There is no entry fee.
Schedule
8:00 - 9:00 AM - Arrival, check-in, and refreshments (for cars registered in advance)
9:00 AM - Show opens; meet owners, view vehicles
10:00 AM - Rides in a classic vehicle
11:00 AM - Classic antique auto parade
12:00 PM - Off the grill: hot food, chips, soda
12:30 PM - Event conclusion
The 10:00 rides and the 11:00 parade are the heart of the day. The registration form asks whether you are willing to give a short ride and whether you will join the parade - please say yes to both if you can.
Registration - required in advance
You must be registered before the event. AFRH requires a completed Official Vehicle Registration Form for every car, returned by Friday, September 12, 2026. Registration is not handled through our site, and you cannot sign up on the morning of the show.

The form asks for:
Your name, phone number, and email address
Vehicle make, model, and year, plus club affiliation (optional - put down MG Car Club Washington D.C. Centre)
Vehicle type: Antique Auto, Classic Car, Truck, Military Vehicle, Motorcycle, or Other
Whether you are willing to give a short ride at 10 AM - please say yes if you can
Whether you will participate in the 11 AM parade - please say yes if you can
