Every year the PTC seems to find an exceptional destination to add to its travel repertoire.
Thinking about dinner last night I asked my wife if she was up for a little road trip for a photo mission for PTC. She said yes so off we went, northbound and down heading to Butler Airport,
On the way I called one of our newer members, Roy Uptegraff and invited him to join us. Fortunately, he was free for dinner and agreed to join us! Roy is a professional pilot and flies out of Butler so he knows the airport.
Our meal was a complete surprise knowing a little about airport food myself.
I had the crab stuffed Sea Bass and Lynn had a salad with salmon, Roy the stuffed cod. All our meals came out timely, hot and delicious! Great!
After dinner Roy asked me if I would like to see some of the airports better kept secrets and of course, I was onboard for that!
We visited a hangar owned by a gentleman named Jim Savage.
Jim owns one of the rarest airplanes in the country and a national champion at Oshkosh, a huge annual fly in, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin attended by tens of thousands of aviation enthusiasts yearly!
Jim introduced us to his 1939 Spartan Executive. All in polished aluminum this rare bird was a testament to aviation’s golden age.
The PTC will get to see this beauty and possibly park near it for a photo OP when we are at Butler on July 28th. Jim will also give us a presentation at lunch.
Please remember to register at MSR so we have a firm count!
Next month the PTCs annual birthday bash, cake and all at The Bigham in Bridgewater.
The Porsche Touring Crew events are open to all ARPCA Members!
