About This Event
Step into living history during Night at the Museum! Dress up in your favorite costume and enjoy a family-friendly evening as historical reenactors bring race car drivers, pilots, inventors, movie stars, and more to life. A fun, immersive experience that blends history, imagination, and a little after-hours magic. Interactive activities will be happening throughout the museum, with opportunities for visitors of all ages to explore, create, and discover. And, of course, there will be plenty of candy along the way!
This year, OHTM is also partnering with the Penobscot Bay YMCA to support Harvesting Hope, a free community effort providing winter essentials, clothing, hygiene supplies, hot meals, and connections to local resources for unhoused and housing-insecure neighbors in Knox County. As part of Night at the Museum, we’re collecting new or gently used coats to help support Harvesting Hope. Bring a donation with you and help make a difference for our neighbors as we head into the colder months.
2026 will be the 5th year of the Owls Head Pumpkin Walk, previously held at Plaisted Preserve. This has become a much-loved event and the Owls Head Conservation Commission is excited to partner with Georges River Land Trust and the Owls Head Transportation Museum to bring the magic back!
Pumpkins will be tucked along the trail, illuminating the way by flickering candlelight. Experience the magic of nearly 150 glowing Jack-o’-lanterns, carved or donated by friends, neighbors and community members, welcoming you back to the Owls Head Halloween Pumpkin Walk
The Pumpkin Walk takes place October 23 and 24 from 5:30–7:30 PM, alongside OHTM’s Night at the Museum on October 24. Make plans to enjoy both events for a full evening of Halloween fun!
Come in costume, explore the museum, meet characters from history, enjoy activities and candy, and help us give back to our community!
